Minister of Agriculture ENG. Khaled Al-Hneifat’s Opening of the Pioneering Strawberry Farming Project “AMAN Strawberry FARM

His Excellency ENG. Khaled Al-Hneifat, Minister of Agriculture, inaugurated the pioneering strawberry farming project , which belongs to “AMAN Grow”. The project aims to enhance strawberry production using advanced vertical farming techniques in a controlled environment, contributing to food security and increasing production efficiency.

Environmental Sustainability and Vertical Farming

This project represents an innovative step towards agricultural sustainability, as it focuses on utilizing vertical farming using AMAN Triple Gutter System , an effective method for using small and limited spaces. Strawberries are grown alongside fish farming, a feature that is the first of its kind in the world. This innovative system allows the use of water from fish farming to nourish the plants, thus enhancing the sustainability of natural resources and reducing waste.
This technology integrates plant cultivation with fish farming in a closed system, where plants benefit from the nutrients found in the water from the fish, while the plants purify the water and return it to the fish, reducing water consumption and overall resource use. This advanced system sets an example for the optimal use of resources in modern agriculture.

Achieving Food Security:

This project is a practical example of how food security can be achieved through sustainable farming techniques using AMAN MFPS. While many countries face significant challenges in meeting their food needs due to climate change or land scarcity, the project offers an effective solution that can contribute to meeting the local market’s strawberry demands. Vertical farming allows for increased productivity in small spaces, which means that the project not only relies on land but also on innovative use of available resources.

Developing Local Communities:

The project is also an important step towards developing local communities by creating new job opportunities, especially in innovative farming fields. The project can train local youth in vertical farming techniques and closed-system fish farming, enhancing their skills and improving their job prospects. It can also contribute to boosting the local economy by providing high-quality agricultural products at lower costs.

The Role of Technology in Agriculture:

Technology is the backbone of this project. By using vertical farming techniques and closed-system fish farming, productivity and crop quality are significantly enhanced. Modern monitoring systems are also used to track plant growth and ensure the health of the fish, contributing to waste reduction and sustainability. This use of technology in agriculture represents a model for supporting sustainable farming in the future.
